Starting My Very Own #30DayGaryVeeChallenge!

In case you've been hiding under a rock or aren't up to date with all my social media posts, I recently began my own #30DayGaryVeeChallenge to get myself on track with starting a business.

This challenge originally came from a recent Ask Gary Vee call with a young lady named Taylor Clark (aka The Fabulous Journey). Check it out below:

A lot of what was said during that call definitely resonated with me as a twenty-something year old. The most important thing that resonated with me was when Gary said:

You need to stop giving a shit about what anybody else has and realize that if you put your head down and just work for the next years, no glamor, no new f*cking car, suitcase, jewelry, trip, event, no Coachella, no fucking new f*cking sneakers. Like f*ckin’ work, you will have it. Every time you care about one of the things I just mentioned, it will slow down your process of having it.

Talk about a huge wake up call.

I sat on this video for quite some time. Took in more of what he had to share in his podcasts, keynotes, interviews... hell, even his book. But I finally got to a point where I felt like I needed to stop researching and just start DOING.

That's the key right there. I can learn all this book knowledge about starting a business and building an empire, but unless I actually dive in it, all of that "knowledge" is meaningless.

That's where the #30DayGaryVeeChallenge comes into play.

I figured it was time to actually put all of this knowledge I've stored up and turn it into something tangible. I've even got a whole bunch of ideas in my head about things I want to do. Without being held accountable, I would probably hold off on pursuing them.

But it's time to cut the BS.

I started the challenge a few days ago and am currently on Day 3. It's been pretty interesting just documenting random events during my day with my iPhone, but it's also been pretty fun. My set schedule forces me to figure out different ways to make my vlogs interesting.

For example, here was day 2:

I'm not usually one to break out of my routine once I establish one. And I'm not saying that I necessarily will. But this vlog will at least challenge my creativity when it comes to documenting versus creating.

So yeah... That's where I'm at right now.

In other news, I've switched back to host my portfolio site on Squarespace yet again. I can't seem to get away from this site. They're just too good to pass up. Ugh.

Anyway, it's time for me to head to the gym. Gonna record some more day 3 footage there.

Til next time!
